    Around Tenerife, the inversion is often created and maintained by the north-east trade winds and the stable high-pressure systems of the subtropical Atlantic. Clear nights are best for stargazing, especially away from resort lighting and during a new moon. For sea views, the hour before sunset brings softer light, rich colour and a more romantic atmosphere, although visibility depends on the day’s humidity and haze.
